Gnälla eller vakta sin tunga? / Whine or gaurd our toungues? english at the bottom

När det sommar och sol, då gnälls det på att det är för varmt, av många mig inkluderad. Och med sommarn kommer myggeländena, åtminstone för mig som är redigt allergisk mot sagda ohyra. då får man försöka tänka på att fåglarna också ska ha mat. På vintern då är det enligt många å andra sidan för kallt. Så vi gnäller och klagar. Finns nog mängder av saker som vi klagar över.

Varför tar jag upp detta då? Jo tankarna gick i går kväll till judarnas uttåg ur Egypten och hur de klagade på allting. De hade just lämnat Egypten och sett Gud göra alla sina under på Farao och hans folk, kommit ut från den och och sett Gud dela på havet, som de fått gått igenom och klagandet började. 

Mina tankar vandrade hitåt efter att ha läst Psalm 26

Ps 26 Den oskyldiges fasta tillit till HERREN. 

Av David.  Skaffa mig rätt, HERRE,  ty jag vandrar i ostrafflighet, och jag förtröstar på HERREN utan att vackla. Pröva mig, HERRE, och försök mig;  rannsaka mina njurar och mitt hjärta. Ty din nåd är inför mina ögon,  och jag vandrar i din sanning. Jag sitter icke hos lögnens män,  och med hycklare har jag icke min umgängelse. Jag hatar de ondas församling,  och hos de ogudaktiga sitter jag icke. Jag tvår mina händer i oskuld,  och kring ditt altare, HERRE, vill jag vandra, för att höja min röst till tacksägelse  och förtälja alla dina under. HERRE, jag har din boning kär  och den plats där din härlighet bor. Ryck icke min själ bort med syndare,  icke mitt liv med de blodgiriga,  i vilkas händer är skändlighet,  och vilkas högra hand är full av mutor. Jag vandrar ju i ostrafflighet;  förlossa mig och var mig nådig. Ja, min fot står på jämn mark;  i församlingarna skall jag lova HERREN.

Jag vet inte riktigt varför mina tankar vandrade åt gnällandets håll, men som sagt det gjorde de. i dessa psalmer ser vi hur totalt David litade på Gud. David gjorde en hel del fel han också, precis som oss, men Gud kallade honom för rättfärdig, för han var kvick att be om förlåt när han syndade. 

När vi idag läser om uttåget, så kan vi tycka att judarnas klagande var bedrövligt, och ofta tror jag att vi glömmer bort vårt eget klagande. Vilket ju gör oss till hycklare. 

Tankarna gick vidare till klagandet och funderingar på om det alltid är något som funnits hos människan, och om det finns något sätt att sluta klaga, eller om det alltid kommer vara en del av en upprorisk mänsklighet.

Visst det fanns profeter också som klagade, men när vi ser vad Job gick igenom och hur lite han klagade, samma sak med Paulus och kung David. En sak som de rättfärdiga verkar ha gemensamt, är att de klagade väldigt lite. Kanske lämnade de klagandet utanför själva skriften och lät bli att lägga till det, en fråga som vi kan få svar på när vi är hemma, om vi ens bryr oss om våra futtiga frågor när vi kommer hem. 

En annan sak som slog mig, och det hade med vad jag läste att göra, är när David i psalmen säger; Hur han vandrar i Guds sanning, inte sitter med lögnare eller umgås med hycklare och hur han hatar de ondas församling och vägrar umgås med de som är ogudaktiga.

Hur är det med oss? Hatar vi synden, på samma sätt som David, vägrar vi umgås med lögnare, hycklare, ogudaktiga? Hatar vi de ondas församling? Vad ser vi på på tv? Vad pratar vi om när vi umgås? Davids 26 psalm borde få oss att fundera på hur vi beter oss. Överlag borde vi fundera på vårt tal, sätter vi en väktare vid våra läppar ps 141:3? 

Ps 141:3-4  Sätt, o HERRE, en vakt för min mun,  bevaka mina läppars dörr. Låt icke mitt hjärta vika av till något ont, till att öva ogudaktighetens gärningar  tillsammans med män som göra vad orätt är;  av deras läckerheter vill jag icke äta.

Ordsp 18:6-7 Dårens läppar komma med kiv, och hans mun ropar efter slag. Dårens mun är honom själv till olycka,  och hans läppar äro en snara hans liv.

Ordspr 18:20-21 Av sin muns frukt får envar sin buk mättad,  han varder mättad av sina läppars gröda. Död och liv har tungan i sitt våld,  de som gärna bruka henne få äta hennes frukt. 

Matt 12:34-37  Vad hjärtat är fullt av, det talar ju munnen. En god människa bär ur sitt goda förråd fram vad gott är, och en ond människa bär ur sitt onda förråd fram vad ont är. Men jag säger eder, att för vart fåfängligt ord som människorna tala skola de göra räkenskap på domens dag. Ty efter dina ord skall du dömas rättfärdig, och efter dina ord skall du dömas skyldig.

Det är onekligen viktigt hur vi beter oss, och vad vi talar kanske mest av allt. lite olika tankar som kommit upp i natt när jag läste några psalmer innan sovdags. Tankarna höll mig vaken ett litet tag. Även när jag vaknade i natt så malde dessa tankar inom mig och likaså när jag vaknade i morse.

Whine or guard our tongues?

When it's summer and sun, then some whine that it's too hot, me included. And with summer comes the mosquito misery, at least for me who is quite allergic to said vermin. But then we have to try to think that the birds should also have food. In the winter then, according to many, on the other hand, it is too cold. So we whine and complain. There are most certainly lots of things that we complain about.

Why do I bring this up then? Well, my thoughts went last night to the Jews' exodus from Egypt and how they complained about everything. They had just left Egypt and seen God do all the wonders on Pharaoh and his people, come out of it and seen God divide the sea for them, and gone through it, and then the complaining began.

My thoughts went here after reasing Psalm 26.

Ps 26 I will bless the Lord

Vindicate me, O Lord,

for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in the Lord without wavering. Prove me, O Lord, and try me; test my heart and my mind.For your steadfast love is before my eyes, and I walk in your faithfulness. I do not sit with men of falsehood, nor do I consort with hypocrites.I hate the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked. I wash my hands in innocence and go around your altar, O Lord, proclaiming thanksgiving aloud, and telling all your wondrous deeds. O Lord, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells. Do not sweep my soul away with sinners, nor my life with bloodthirsty men, in whose hands are evil devices, and whose right hands are full of bribes. But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me. My foot stands on level ground; in the great assembly I will bless the Lord. English standard version.

I do not really know why my thoughts wandered in the direction of whining, but as I said they did. in these psalms we see David total trust in God. David did a lot of wrong he too, just like us, but God called him righteous, because he was quick to ask for forgiveness when he sinned.

When we today read about the exodus, we may think that the Jews' lament was deplorable, and I often think we forget our own lament. Which, of course, makes hypocrites out of us.

The thoughts wandered on to complaining and I started thinking if this has always existed in man, and if there is any way to stop complaining, or if it will always be part of a rebellious humanity.

There were of course prophets who also complained, but when we see what Job went through and how little he complained, the same thing with Paul and King David. One thing that the righteous seem to have in common is that they complained very little. Maybe they left the complaint out of the scripture itself and did not add it, a question that we can get answers to when we are finally home, if we even care about our poor questions when we get there.

Another thing that struck me, and that had to do with what I read, is when David says in the psalm; How he walks in the truth of God, does not sit with liars or associate with hypocrites and how he hates the congregation of the wicked and refuses to associate with the wicked.

How is it with us? Do we hate sin, like David did, do we refuse to associate with liars, hypocrites, and wicked people? Do we hate the church of the wicked? What do we watch on TV? What do we talk about when we hang out? Psalm 26 of David should make us think about how we behave. Overall, we should think about our speech, and whether we put a guard at our lips ps 141:3?

Ps 141:3-4 Set a guard, o, Lord over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!  Do not let my heart incline to any evil, to busy myself with wicked deeds in company with men who work iniquity, and let me not eat of their delicacies!

Ordsp 18:6-7A fool’s lips walk into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating. A fool’s mouth is his ruin, and his lips are a snare to his soul.

Ordspr 18:20-21 From the fruit of a man’s mouth his stomach is satisfied; he is satisfied by the yield of his lips. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.

Matt 12:34-37 You brood of vipers! How can you speak good, when you are evil? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The good person out of his good treasure brings forth good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure brings forth evil. I tell you, on the day of judgment people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.

It is undeniably important how we behave, and perhaps most of all what we speak. Some different thoughts that came up last night when I read some psamls before bedtime. The thoughts kept me awake for a while. Even when I woke up last night, these thoughts where whirling around inside me and also when I woke up this morning.
