I midsommartid ! / In midsummer time ! english at the bottom

Midsommar en tid som många längtat efter barnen kanske för dans och lekar, vuxna efter sill och nubbe. Baksidan är alla de som fasar inför denna helg, som så många andra helger, då fylla och bråk kommer in i bilden. Sedan har vi så klart alla de som är ensamma på storhelger som denna. Helt klart en helg som ställer oss inför olika känslor, beroende på vem vi är och vad vi har att se fram emot eller bäva inför.

Det finns en Fader som ser oss precis där vi är; som gläds med oss när vi gläder oss, och sörjer med oss igenom problemen. Hur vår situation än ser ut, så finns Han där med oss. Bibeln förmanar oss att inte dricka oss druckna av vin, utan hellre bli uppfyllda av Guds Helige Ande. 

Det är inte detsamma som totalförbud, vilket många förknippar kristna med; Men det sagt, så bör alla tänka på att mycket sprit inte gör någon glad, måttlighet är bäst och om man inte kan låta bli att dricka för mycket, då bör man låta bli. Idag finns det dessutom mängder av alkoholfria alternativ. Och som kristen, när vi inte vet om vi har en före detta missbrukare med i vår mitt, då låter vi bli helt och hållet, så vi inte åstadkommer att personen trillar dit. Jag är säker på att jag inte ens behöver säga det.

Mina tankar går framförallt till alla de barn som har ett elände på grund av spriten, givetvis även andra som använder annan sorts stimulans. Beroende är aldrig trevligt, men det är enkelt att fastna i det. De som inte dricker, eller dricker måttligt, har ett oerhört ansvar. Vi borde finnas där för de som inte har det enkelt i helger som denna. Här lyckas vi väldigt sällan. En bra sak skulle vara att på något sätt visa, att här finns en familj eller en församling, att vända sig till som träffas och har lite mysigt firande utan alkohol och andra påverkande substanser.

Något för oss alla att tänka på till nästa år, eller storhelg, om vi inte redan gjort det. Att sitta så här i efterhand, när det är för sent, och fundera på vad man borde ha gjort, känns lite sorgligt och onödigt. Det går ju inte att ändra detta just nu. Så många små saker som man skulle kunna göra för någon, och hjälpa dem igenom denna helg.

Det vi kan kan göra, ifall vi nu inte tänkt på att göra något handgripligt, är be, och bön kan förändra allting. Så låt oss tänka på alla dessa ensamma, de som dricker eller tar droger, de som far illa av familjemedlemmar som har dessa problem. Gud ser dem, men vi kan be för dem. 

Om du som läser detta har problem med beroende, ska du veta att det finns en som betalat priset för dina fel och brister. Det finns en chans att börja om från början. Jesus dog för allas fel och brister, som vill ta emot det. Att välja tro på Jesus och det han gjort för oss = att få en helt ny start. Jesus själv säger att Han tog våra fel och brister, d.v.s. synder, så när vi tar emot honom, då dör vi till vår gamla människa, och uppstår till en ny skapelse i Jesus. Det gamla är borta och något nytt kommer i dess ställe.

Tänk vilken nåd Gud visade oss genom att sända sin Son, Jesus, att dö för våra synder. Och Han står där och väntar på den som behöver Honom, villig att ta emot, vem som än söker efter Honom.  Han har sträckt ut sin hand till alla människor. Det enda som vi behöver göra är att be Honom förlåta oss, och förnya våra liv. Samma sak är det om vi faller, Vi ber om förlåt och om igen är vägen mellan oss och vår Fader öppen. Det är ren nåd. 

Hebr 4:15-16 Ty vi hava icke en sådan överstepräst som ej kan hava medlidande med våra svagheter, utan en som har varit frestad i allting, likasom vi, dock utan synd. Låtom oss därför med frimodighet gå fram till nådens tron, för att vi må undfå  barmhärtighet och finna nåd, till hjälp i rätt tid.

Jesus finns där i nödens stund och han känner med oss alla, eftersom Han en gång gick i våra skor. Han var fullständig människa och samtidigt fullständig Gud, även om han tillfälligt valde att lägga av sig sina gudomliga attribut.

In midsummer time!

Midsummer is a time that many have longed for, children perhaps mostly so for dancing and games, adults for herring and nubbe (vodca). The downside is all those who dread this weekend, like so many other weekends, when drunkenness and trouble comes into the picture. Then of course we have all those who are alone on big weekends like this. It´s clearly a weekend that presents us with different emotions, depending on who we are and what we have to look forward to or tremble before.

There is a Father who sees us right where we are; who rejoice with us when we rejoice, and mourn with us through our problems. Whatever our situation may be, He is there with us. The Bible exhorts us not to drink wine, but rather to be filled with the Holy Ghost of God.

It is not the same as a total ban, which many associate Christians with; But that said, everyone should keep in mind that a lot of alcohol does not make anyone happy, moderation is best and if you can not help but drink too much, then you should not. Today, there are also plenty of non-alcoholic alternatives. And as Christians, when we do not know if we have a former addict in our midst, in those we don´t know, we should not drink any alcohol at all, so we do not cause the person to stumble and fall. I'm sure I don 't even have to say that.

My thoughts go mainly to all the children who have a misery due to alcohol, of course also others who use any other kind of stimulus. Addiction is never nice, but it's easy to get caught up in. Those who don´t drink, or drink moderately, have an enormous responsibility. We should be there for those who do not have it easy on weekends like this. Here we very rarely succeed. A good thing would be for someone to show, that here is a family or a congregation, to turn to, people who meet and have a little cozy celebration without alcohol and other influential substances.

Something for all of us to think about for next year, or big weekend, if we have not already done so. Sitting like this in retrospect, when it's too late, and thinking about what you should have done, feels a little sad and unnecessary. It is not possible to change this right now. So many small things that we could do for someone, and help them through this weekend.

What we can do, if we have not now thought of doing something tangible, is pray, and prayer can change everything. So let's think of all those lonely people, those who drink or take drugs, those who are hurt by family members who have these problems. God sees them, but we can pray for them.

If you who read this have problems with addiction, you should know that there is someone who paid the price for your mistakes and shortcomings. There is a chance to start over. Jesus died for the faults and shortcomings of all who want to receive it. To choose faith in Jesus and what he has done for us = to get a whole new start. Jesus Himself says that He took our faults and shortcomings, i.e. sins, so when we receive him, we die to our old man, and arise to a new creation in Jesus. The old is gone and something new has come in its place.

Imagine the grace God showed us by sending his Son, Jesus, to die for our sins. And He stands there waiting for anyone that needs Him, willing to receive, whoever seeks Him. He has stretched out his hand to all people. All we need to do is ask Him to forgive us, and renew our lives. It is the same if we fall, We ask for forgiveness and again the path between us and our Father is open. It is pure grace.

Hebr 4:15-16 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Jesus is there in the time of need and he knows all of us, because He once walked in our shoes. He was completely human and at the same time completely God, even though he temporarily chose to renounce his divine attributes.
