The golden rule to live by. Johan Olof Wallin

It´s been a while since I bought 12 rather small books of Johan Olof Wallin, The first 7 are sermons, the last 5 are peotry and psalms. He was really good with words, and I will let the poem speak for it self, in this post.

How can my life be so divided, a mix of sun and clouds above? I will serve my Lord and Saviour, give to Him, my heart and love. All things else that God will grant me, that will be what it will be.

His grace and counsel, never leaves, for those walking in His fear. He does not shorten times, His eyes they see, His ears they hear. And where and what I am to do, He sees all of these things too.

If I´m to be as conscentious, pious, and as honest and as just, I need to live with the Lords armor, get rid of all my own disgust. It´s all a matter of preserving, what the fallen man deserving.

And if I ever should forget, then I firmly do belive, that He will lighten all my burdens, and help with all my grieve. The power of distress is strong, but to the Lord I do belong.

All darkness flees, all evil passes, if we walk with the Lord always, those seeking God, will always find, their needs fulfilled all days. The only way of getting there, goes through both work and prayer

A morning sigh will give me strenght, to all that comes my way, when I will toil and sweat will pour, I keep my peace all day. When I then lay myself to rest, the evening sigh just feels the best.

The sweetest rest for me, will be, when tribulation times is due, how greatful I will then look back, and know His promises were true. I will then, at last be paid, in full for days in labor made.
