God gives us of His love, we pass it on.

 Woke up at 4 o'clock with one of my absolute favorite songs ringing inside me. Now I have lots of favorite songs, but this one comes back to me often. We Christians have an incredible song treasure. I think this actually applies to the entire treasure of Swedish songs in general.

It is fascinating that a small country like Sweden has had the privilege of having so many talented, musicians, singers, songwriters - both Christian and profane. But enough about that.

Is it even possible to explain in words, what Jesus did for us. It's such a big miracle, nothing bigger has ever happened. That part of the deity comes down to earth in human form, becomes like one of us, and takes the punishment that we, you and I, rightly deserve in the eyes of a holy God. And the only thing we need to do to get it right with God again is to believe.

2. Where would I be if Jesus didn't love me? Where would I be if Jesus didn't care? Where would I be if He hadn't sacrificed His life Oh, but I'm glad, so glad He did

No one has more love than the one who gives his life for someone, wrote John, and it must be true. Most of us can probably not even imagine the thought of stepping in - taking someone else's place - and dying in their place. The question is whether we could even do it for our loved ones? Fortunately, we live in a country where we do not have to find out either way. But our Jesus, He did this for us.

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you. John 15:9-15

First comes faith, which comes from hearing about what Jesus did for us. It follows that we want to obey (or it should follow) what God says to us. We can see it as the response of love. God loved us so much that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Our response to this incredible love that has been given to us, should be, to then want to obey what God has said to us in his word. Belief put in action.

Just as it is for children, (talking about the kind of parents who actually cares about their children and is there for them) they want to obey their parents, when they have ougrown their worst defiance, that is. (at least if they have received a proper upbringing and learned to differentiate between good and evil) They do not want to embarrass their parent / parents.

After all, our lives reflect our parents, our upbringing. It is the same with our Heavenly Father. He has given us his guidelines for how we should live. It means some prohibitions, just as our parents had some things we were not allowed to do. How much more then, if we used to obeyed our parent / parents, should we not want to obey our Lord.

Jesus says that His burden is light, and it´s not that difficult if we know what God approves and doesn´t. We don´t have a lot of rules to follow, although there still are some.

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luk 6:38

Give and receive, or receive and pass on. A good thing always, even outside the Christian ranks, but it should be a matter of fact for us as Christians. This should not feel like a compulsion. And the ways we can give are many. We can give of our time, energy, money, and so on. Being able to pass something on also gives a satisfaction, which can´t exactly be compared to anything else.

A selfless life, where we think of others first and not ourselves. This doesn´t mean that we do not need our own time, or to take care of ourselves. But the focus cannot be solely on me. I take all these "selfies" as an example, where people constantly share pictures of themselves. Their lives seem to be very much about the self, instead of being turned outwards.

But the love that God has given us can ot only be about the self. That I have received,ór that I am satisfied. Love must be transformed into action, where what I have received is passed on.

An old movie comes to mind, a little boy who gets help and then passes it on. He doesn´t do exactly the same thing for the person he is helping. But what happens is that the action breeds a desire in the next person to carry it on and so it goes forward, followed by a little whisper od; Pass it forward.

We have received - we give. For us Christians, of course, it is about telling about what Jesus did for us and passing the gospel on. But there are other ways to do it, than just talking. My mind goes here to William Booth who started the Salvation Army and one of their ways of reaching out with the message, namely, make sure the person has been fed and has been clothes.

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” Matt 25:31-46

Now I get to look at what I wrote as spiled paint on a stuffed canvas, with different cloths that go into each other. I have let my thoughts wander a little here and a little there. Hopefully, the reader can find some small grain of gold among the paint splashes.

Gud ger oss av sin kärlek, vi ger den vidare

Vaknade till vid 4 snåret med en av mina absoluta favorit sånger inom mig. Nu har jag mängder av favoritsånger, men denna återkommer till mig ofta. Vi har en otrolig sångskatt vi kristna. Ja det gäller hela den svenska visskatten överlag anser jag.

Det är fascinerande att ett litet land som Sverige har haft förmånen att ha så många talangfulla, musiker, sångare, låtskrivare – både kristna och profana. Men nog om det.

Jag älskar dig Jesus, jag vet Du är min.

Jag älskar dig Jesus, jag vet Du är min, och trots vad jag är i mig själv är jag Din. Du frälst mig från döden, Du hjälper ännu, och ingen nej ingen har älskat som Du.

Av evighet Jesus, Du älskat mig först, och se av all kärlek, Din kärlek är störst, ty allt intill döden, den sträcker sig ju, och ingen nej, ingen, har älskat som Du.

När sist i det hem, Du av nåd mig berett, vars härlighet än intet öga har sett, skal bliva min lovsång, den samma som nu, att ingen nej ingen, har älskat som Du.

Går det ens att förklara med ord, det som Jesus gjorde för oss. Det är ett så stort under, inget större har någonsin hänt. Att en del av gudomen kommer ner till jorden iklädd mänsklig skepnad, blir som en av oss, och tar det straff som vi, du och jag, rätteligen förtjänar i en helig Guds ögon. Och det enda som vi behöver göra för att få det rätt ställt med Gud igen, är att tro.

Så stor är Jesu kärlek.

1. Vad hade hänt om Jesus inte älskat, vad hade hänt utan Hans nåd? Vad hade hänt om Jesus inte offrade sitt liv? Åh det är sant, Han älskar mig.

2. Han kom från glädjen hos sin Fader, tog plats i dystra människorader, för att visa sin kärleksmakt, Han offrade sitt liv. Åh det är sant, Han älskar mig.

Ingen har mer kärlek än den som ger sitt liv för någon skrev Johannes, och nog måste det vara sant. De flesta av oss kan nog inte ens tänka tanken att själv träd in – ta någon annans plats – och dö i dennes ställe. Frågan är om vi ens skulle kunna göra det för våra allra närmaste? Vi lever som tur är i ett land, där vi inte behöver få reda på hur det ligger till. Men Jesus, Han gjorde detta för oss.

Såsom Fadern har älskat mig, så har ock jag älskat eder; förbliven i min kärlek. Om I hållen mina bud, så förbliven I i min kärlek, likasom jag har hållit min Faders bud och förbliver i hans kärlek. Detta har jag talat till eder, för att min glädje skall bo i eder, och för att eder glädje skall bliva fullkomlig. Detta är mitt bud, att I skolen älska varandra, såsom jag har älskat eder. Ingen har större kärlek, än att han giver sitt liv för sina vänner. I ären mina vänner, om I gören vad jag bjuder eder. Jag kallar eder nu icke längre tjänare, ty tjänaren får icke veta vad hans herre gör; vänner kallar jag eder, ty allt vad jag har hört av min Fader har jag kungjort för eder. Joh 15:9-15

Först kommer tro, vilken kommer av att höra talas om vad Jesus gjorde för oss. Det följs av att vi vill lyda (eller borde följas av det) det som Gud säger till oss. Vi kan se det som kärlekens gensvar. Gud älskade oss så mycket att Han gav sin enda son för att de som tror på honom, Guds son ska slippa gå under och i stället få ett evigt liv.

Vårt gensvar på denna otroliga kärlek som blivit given till oss, borde vara att då vilja lyda det som Gud sagt åt oss i sitt ord. Tro i handling.

Precis som det är för barn, (pratar om den sorten som faktiskt bryr sig om sina barn och finns där för dem) de vill lyda sina föräldrar, när de kommit över värsta trotsåldern. (åtminstone om de fått en ordentlig uppfostran och lärt sig skilja på gott och ont) De vill inte skämma ut sin/ sina förälder/ föräldrar.

Våra liv ger ju en återspegling av våra föräldrar, vår uppfostran. Samma sak är det med vår himmelska Fader. Han har gett oss sina direktiv för hur vi ska leva. Det innebär en del förbud, precis som våra föräldrar hade en del saker som vi inte fick göra. Hur mycket mer, om vi nu lydde vår/ våra förälder/ föräldrar, borde vi inte då vilja lyda vår Herre.

Jesus säger att Hans börda är lätt, och så svårt är det inte om vi vet vad Gud godkänner och inte. Vi har ju inte en massa regler att följa, även om det fortfarande finns några.

Given, och eder skall bliva givet. Ett gott mått, väl packat, skakat och överflödande, skall man giva eder i skötet; ty med det mått som I mäten med skall ock mätas åt eder igen. Luk 6:38

Ge och få, eller få och ge vidare. En god sak alltid, även utanför de kristna leden, men det borde vara en självklarhet för kristna. Detta borde inte kännas som ett tvång. Och sätten som vi kan ge på är många. Vi kan ge av vår tid, energi, pengar, och så vidare. Att få ge vidare ger också en tillfredsställelse, som inte direkt kan jämföras med något annat.

Ett osjälviskt liv, där vi tänker på andra först och inte oss själva. Det betyder nu inte att vi inte behöver egen tid, eller ta hand om oss själva. Men inriktningen kan inte vara enbart på mig. Jag tar alla dessa ”selfies = självbilder” som exempel, där folk hela tiden delar bilder av sig själva. Deras liv verkar handla väldigt mycket om jaget, i stället för att vändas utåt.

Men den kärlek som Gud gett oss kan inte enbart handla om jaget. Att jag har fått, är nöjd, är tillfredsställd. Kärleken måste omändras till handling, där det jag fått för jag vidare.

Tanken på en film kommer upp i mig, en liten pojke som får hjälp och sedan för det vidare. Han gör inte exakt samma sak för den han hjälper. Men det som händer är att handlingen föder en längtan hos nästa att föra det vidare och så fortgår det, följt av en liten uppmaning om; För det vidare till nästa.

Vi har fått – vi ger. För oss kristna handlar det givetvis om att berätta om vad Jesus gjorde för oss och föra det vidare. Men det finns andra sätt att göra det på, än att enbart tala. Tänker här på William Booth som startade Frälsningsarmén och ett av deras sätt att nå ut med budskapet, nämligen, se till att personen är mätt och har kläder på kroppen.

Men när Människosonen kommer i sin härlighet, och alla änglar med honom, då skall han sätta sig på sin härlighets tron. Och inför honom skola församlas alla folk och han skall skilja dem från varandra, såsom en herde skiljer fåren ifrån getterna. Och fåren skall han ställa på sin högra sida, och getterna på den vänstra. Därefter skall Konungen säga till dem som stå på hans högra sida: 'Kommen, I min Faders välsignade, och tagen i besittning det rike som är tillrett åt eder från världens begynnelse.

Ty jag var hungrig, och I gåven mig att äta; jag var törstig, och I gåven mig att dricka; jag var husvill, och I gåven mig härbärge, naken, och I klädden mig; jag var sjuk, och I besökten mig; jag var i fängelse, och I kommen till mig.' Då skola de rättfärdiga svara honom och säga: 'Herre, när sågo vi dig hungrig och gåvo dig mat, eller törstig och gåvo dig att dricka? Och när sågo vi dig husvill och gåvo dig härbärge, eller naken och klädde dig? Och när sågo vi dig sjuk eller i fängelse och kommo till dig?' Nu får jag likna det jag skrivit vid en fullproppad målarduk, med olika kludd som går in i varandra. Jag har låtit tankarna vandra lite hit och lite dit. Förhoppningsvis kan den som läser hitta något litet guldkorn bland målarstänken.

Guds frid tillönskar jag Ingemo

Rädsla eller total förtröstan på Gud ?

Jag har ju hållit på med att fixa till en hemsida, som nu är igång, även om den inte är riktigt klar ännu. Det som saknas är bilder och lite mer information om missionsarbetet som vi har i församlingen. Jag har inte varit med så väldigt länge i församlingen ännu, så jag saknar namn på alla och information om en del saker.

Men det som legat på mig på slutet är fruktan, speciellt hos de som är kristna. Men vi ska ha vår förtröstan på Gud, inte rädslor av olika slag. Om det är tufft nu och vi räds olika saker som t.ex. covid eller vaccinen mot sagda covid; Hur ska vi klara av att inte vara livrädda när antikrist kommer till välde och vi blir förbjudna att köpa och sälja?

Om vi är rädda nu, då behöver vi nu, börja att arbeta med sagda rädsla. För när det blir ännu värre, då kommer vi helt och fullt behöva lite på Herren i allting.

Frågan är hur vi ska komma dit, till en total förtröstan på Gud. En förtröstan där, när det verkligen stormar, så bara vet vi att Gud är i fullkomlig kontroll. Tänker på lärjungarna i båten, när stormen dånade och Jesus låg och sov gott. De hade Guds egen son med sig och var rädda. Vi har också Guds egen son med oss, fast inte på exakt samma sätt.

Så vi läser denna historia och fler liknande från de som sedan blev apostlarna, och så ser vi i deras evangelier och brev, ur förändrade de var. De agerade inte längre i fruktan. I stället så gick de i en stark tro. Ta Paulus när han får en profetia om att hans tid var över, och de andra sa, gå inte, men han gick rakt mot döden i en total förtröstan på Gud.

Är vi som Paulus eller som Petrus när han gick ut på vågorna för att möta Jesus? Håller vår tro i de tuffaste stunder, eller ser vi på omständigheterna - vår tro börjar vackla - vi börjar sjunka.

Tro kontra fruktan, inte enkelt. Ibland vet man nog inte förrän man är där, exakt vilken kategori man tillhör.

Detta för tankarna över på en berättelse som jag hörde för länge sedan, som ska ha ägt rum i Ryssland. Vinter och kallt, 10 kristna fick klä av sig nakna och gå ut på isen. Om de förnekade sin tro fick de komma tillbaka, klä på sig och bli uppvärmda. De stod där – höll varandras händer – lovsjöng Jesus. Efter ett tag gav en av dem upp och gick tillbaka, men då tog en av fångvaktarna över dennes plats - klädde av sig – tog de andras händer och stämde in i sången – tills de alla dog.

Har vi den tron, du och jag. Kommer vi när antikrist kommer till välde orka hålla oss kvar i den tro som vi har, eller kommer vi ge upp, ge efter?

Vi lever trots allt i den sista av den sista tiden. Det är fascinerande att se hur många av bibelns profetior som slår in nu och har hållit på ett tag. Men det innebär också att resten – antikrist märke – inte kunna köpa och sälja – också kommer komma. Så om vi inte har total tro nu, då behöver vi arbeta på den.

Här har ni en lite allvarligare sida för oss som kristna. En sida som vi inte har råd att ignorera. Vår Gud är stor och mängder av oss säger att Han är stor, vi sjunger sånger om det också. Men när det kommer till kritan, är Han så stor för oss, som vi sjunger om eller säger oss tro? Var och en bör rannsaka sitt eget hjärta.

Käre Fader; Låt ingen av oss fastna i rädsla av något slag, och hjälp oss att bli så stadiga i vår tro på Din storhet i allting, så det enda vi ser är hur stor Du är och vilken makt Du har. Hjälp oss att alltid ha blicken på Dig, Du som skapat allting. Ge oss av Din kraft och styrka i och genom allting. I Jesu namn Amen

Fil 4:4-7 Glädjen eder i Herren alltid. Åter vill jag säga: Glädjen eder. Låten edert saktmod bliva kunnigt för alla människor. Herren är nära! Gören eder intet bekymmer, utan låten i allting edra önskningar bliva kunniga inför Gud, genom åkallan och bön, med tacksägelse. Så skall Guds frid, som övergår allt förstånd, bevara edra hjärtan och edra tankar, i Kristus Jesus.

Fear, or complete trust in God ?

I´ve been busy fixing a website, which is now up and running, even though it´s not quite finished yet. What´s missing are pictures and a little more information about the mission work that we in our church are involved in. I haven´t been in the church for very long yet, so I lack the names of everyone and information about some things.

What´s been on my thought recently, is fear, especially among those who are Christians. But we should have our trust in God, not fears of various kinds. If it´s tough now and we are afraid of different things such as covid or the vaccine against said covid; How will we be able to cope with not being terrified when the antichrist comes to power and we are forbidden to buy and sell?

If we´re afraid now, then now is the time we need start working with said fear. Because when it gets even worse, we´ll have to completely trust in the Lord in everything.

The question is how to get there, to a total trust in God. A confidence that when the storms really area rageing, we just know that God is in complete control. Thinking of the disciples in the boat, when the storm roared and Jesus slept well. They had God's own son with them and were afraid. Even though we also have God's own Son with us, it´s not in the exactly same way.

We read this story and more like it from those who later became the apostles, and we see in their gospels and letters, the changes that occured. They no longer acted in fear. Instead, they went in a strong faith. Look at Paul when he gets a prophecy that his time was over, and the others said, do not go, but he went straight to his death with a complete trust in God.

Are we like Paul or like Peter when he went out on the waves to meet Jesus? Will our faith carry us in the toughest moments, or will we look at the circumstances - our faith begins to waver - we begin to sink?

Believe versus fear, not easy. So
metimes you probably do not know until you are there, exactly which category you belong to.

This brings to mind a story I heard a long time ago, which is said to have taken place in Russia. Winter and cold, 10 Christians were told to undress and walk out on the ice, naked. If they denied their faith, they were allowed to return, get dressed, and get warmed up. They stood there - holding each other's hands – worshiping Jesus. After a while, one of them gave up and went back, but then one of the prison guards took over his place - undressed - took the others' hands and tuned in to the song - until they all died.

Do we, you and I have that faith. When antichrist rises to power, will we be able to hold on to the faith we have, or will we give up, give in?

After all, we are living in the last of the last days. It's fascinating to see how many of the Bible's prophecies have come true now and have been doing so for a while. But it also means that the rest - the mark of antichrist - not being able to buy and sell - will also come. So if we do not have complete faith now, then we need to work on it.

Here´s a slightly more serious side for us as Christians. Something we can´t afford to ignore. Our God is great and many of us say that He is great, we sing songs about it too. But when it comes down to it, is He really so great to us that as what we sing about or say we believe? Everyone should examine their own heart.

Dear Father; Let none of us get caught up in fear of any kind, and help us to become so steadfast in our faith in Your greatness in all things, that the only thing we see is how great You are and what power You posess. Help us to always have our eyes on You, You who created everything. Give us of Your power and strength in and through everything. In Jesus name Amen

Phil 4:4-7 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

God before our eyes always.

Started reading a book by C.H. Spurgeon, the title is Gems from Malachi. This was from a sermon he held in Jan 7 1855; He begins by saying that for God's chosen people, the study of who God is should be at the center. We should have a desire to get to know God, the person, nature, work and everything about the existence of God.

I will not quote the whole book, but the beginning here, we as God's chosen people should want to know who he is, what he has done, his ways and guidelines. Spurgeon uses the parable to hold up a vertical line, just like my old Bible school teacher Donobauer. If we do not know who God is, what he has done, what commands he has given, what we are not allowed to do, and so on; can we then claim to know God? And if we ourself don´t know God, why should he know us on the Day of Judgment?

Spurgeon goes on to say, that the subject of God is so great, so extensive, that our little brains cannot really grasp it. We can imagine ourself being wise men, but face to face with God, we will find ourselfs ashamed if we consider us wise. When Spurgeon compares our wisdom and knowledge with God's, he says; I was born yesterday and know nothing.

Oh, how true that is. I, in comparison with an almighty, omniscient God, am not even a small gust of wind. The importance of actually learning everything about God's attributes cannot be overstated, not if we are to call ourselves Christians. It is God as the creator of everything and God's love for us that made us once choose the path of salvation. Our whole inner man shouldn´t only want to learn everything about God, but also strive to learn us everything about the God we believe in.

In addition to having the will, it is a necessity for us Christians to get to know God. How can we resist temptation and seduction if we do not know God and His will? So in order not to end up wrong, it is very important to have a full understanding of all of God's attributes.

The psalmist says; I have your law before my eyes night and day. Is that so for us, do we have God and His law before our eyes night and day? Do we keep a plumb-line in our everyday life in our speech, our deeds, et.c. in relation to how God wants us to speak and act? We each have to make our own assessment.

To really get to know God, think of him day and night and keep what he has said to us, also carries with it a promise, namely that we will succeed.

A proverb says; Happiness stands the bold bee. (Peder Syv 1631-1702) But the truth is that it is obedience to God that gives us total happiness.

Another says; there is only one way to happiness and that is to stop worrying about circumstances that it is not in our power to change. (Epiketos 50-140)

It´s not entirely true, because God says that when we keep His law before our eyes night and day, our way will be successful.

Man's way of looking at how we ourselves can be happy, or not worry about things we can not control, is human wisdom. The wisdom of God is so much greater, and it is contained in; Keep the law of God, day and night, before our eyes. The truth is that you and I, can´t have an affect on anything at all in ourselves. God is the one who outlines our lives, He sees the beginning and the end of them.

Paul Claudel (1868-) put it this way; The best way to lose happiness is to seek it. Happiness is not the goal of life, it's just a by-product.

Happiness as a by-product of having God's law before our eyes, 24-7. We as Christians do not even have to look for it, it just follows as the promise it is. Happiness is knowing God and obeying Him, or should be for us as Christians. Getting to know everything about God should be our delight, as Spurgeon said. Nothing is more important.

Gud för våra ögon alltid !

Började läsa en bok av C.H. Spurgeon, titeln är översatt Malakis juveler. Detta ska vara från en predikan 7 jan 1855; Han börjar med att för Guds utvalda folk borde studien av vem Gud är, vara i centrum. Vi borde ha en vilja att lära känna Gud, personen, naturen, arbetet ja allting om Guds existens.

Jag kommer inte citera hela boken, men lite i början, vi som Guds utvalda folk borde vilja veta vem han är, vad han gjort, hans vägar och riktlinjer. Spurgeon använder liknelsen med att hålla upp en lodlina, precis som min gamla bibelskolelärare Donobauer. Om vi inte vet vem Gud är, vad har gjort, vilka befallningar han gett, vad vi inte är tillåtna att göra och så vidare; Hur kan vi då påstå att vi känner Gud? Och om vi inte känner Gud, varför ska han på domens dag kännas vid oss?

Spurgeon går även här, endast på första sidan ännu, in på att ämnet om Gud är så stort, så omfattande så våra små hjärnor kan inte riktigt få grepp om det. Vi kan tänka oss visa, men öga mot öga med Gud, ja då kommer vi på skam om vi anser oss visa. När Spurgeon jämför vår vishet och kunskap med Guds säger han; Jag föddes igår och vet ingenting.

Oj vad sant det är. Jag i jämförelse med en allsmäktig, allvetande Gud, är inte ens en liten vindpust. Vikten att vi faktiskt lär oss allting om Guds attribut, kan inte påpekas för lite, inte om vi ska kalla oss kristna. Det är ju Gud som alltings skapare och Guds kärlek till oss som gjorde att vi en gång valde frälsningens väg. Hela vår inre människa borde inte bara vilja lära oss allt om Gud, utan även sträva efter att lära oss allting om den Gud vi tror på.

Utöver att vi behöver ha viljan, så är det ett nödvändigt måste för oss kristna att lära känna Gud. Hur ska vi kunna stå emot frestelser och förförelser om vi inte känner Gud och hans vilja? Så för att inte hamna fel är det ju väldigt viktigt att få full förståelse av alla Guds attribut.

Psalmisten säger ju, Jag har din lag för mina ögon natt och dag. Är det så för oss, har vi Gud och hans lag inför våra ögon natt och dag? Håller vi upp en lodlina i vardagen i vårt tal, våra gärningar, et.c. i förhållande till hur Gud vill att vi ska tala och handla? Vi får var och en göra vår egen bedömning.

The lyrics really speaks for itself. We often have our eyes turned to ourselves and forget that there are those who might even have it worse than us. How often do we look at ourselves in the mirror and think about what changes we, you and I, can make ourselves, and how it would affect things around us?

Look at the man/ woman in the mirror, get him/ her to change his her way. No message can be clearer, you want to make the world a better place, look at yourself and make a change.

If I´m to look at it from a Christian perspective, the scripture tells us that no one is righteous, not one, and our hearts are incurably evil by nature. For us to actually change, we must really have our gaze outward, more than inward. I am not saying that it is impossible for a non-Christian to change the world or start with him/ herself, rather the case is, that for us who are saved it should come natural.

If those who are not Christians can understand this, then we should do it even more so, since we should have died away from ourselves and risen to a new life in Christ.

We can use the golden rule, Do to others as you yourself want to be treated. Look at yourself in the mirror, are you who you should be in Christ? Would we really stand a deep scrutiny from others regarding our Christian life?

If non-cristians can see that we need to care about each other. Then how important isn´t it for us as Christians to really do the same. This lyrics grabs me, just like others, where the focus is on others than myself. Looking at others, not myself. There are always those who are worse off than I am. It does not necessarily mean that I myself have not gone through tough things, it just means, I´m not alone.

For both cristians and non-christians it can many times be, that we are so self-absorbed with how tough and hard our own lives are or have been. We therefore forget others who have right now/ or used to have it just as hard or even worse. Selfpity has become the focus. But if we open our eyes to someone else's worries, our own problems also get diminished.

Uno Svenningsson was in a little bit on the same track in his song; Under the surface.

1. Under the surface you´ll find large and small. Beneath the surface there´s laughter and crying. There is a lot going on there that we cannot understand. But we always find the answers there at the bottom of ourselves, beneath the surface

2. People laugh and toast. But soon the end comes with chaos. Someone kicks and hits a poor man, who hasn´t got chance at all. I see that no one seems to care and neither do I. The fear is too great and strong to do anything at all.

bridge. Beneath the surface, I'm ashamed of myself. Beneath the surface, the image burns me.

3. I think about it often, if that had been my own brother. Then I too, would have turned into a monster without words. When I see all the evil that we humans have unleashed, the meaningless suffering, then I have a hard time to understandi that we have all been children and helpless at some point. Loved without boundaries, loved without compulsion.

Bridge. Below the surface all of us are all small, below the surface a good soul can perish.

For far too many, this is the norm, we close our eyes to those outside of ourself, do not want to see, do not want to hear. But imagine if we instead, look at ourselves, and start with ourselves. Be the one who does the opposite, the one who tries to change something. Not everyone can do everything, but if many do something small, it can be a really big change that happens.

We as Christians, in particular, should have that view. Looking beyond ourselves. Where we help others instead of digging into the well of our own problems.

This is something we see in the Bible as well. Think on Joseph - sold into slavery - end up in prison - Pharaoh's right hand. He could have become very bitter and introvert. Failed, to with God's help - help others interpret their dreams, - worrying about his own problems. Paul likewise with everything he went through. But they continued their path despite the problems they constantly found themselves in.

Problem is one thing that can make us introwort, another one today is the whole social media stuff, such as"selfies. I must admit that I am happy not to belong to this young generation. I´m clearly not a selfie person, thinks all social media is a bit awkward and don´t have time for them either.

In our time, it is not easy to live a completely divine life with everything around us that wants to make us like everyone else. Enduring has never been easy, but if we are to endure today, the difference will be greater than 100 years ago. Yet that is exactly what we are expected to do.

A different people, separated from all others. That was what the Jews were called to be, and this were supposed to make everyone else jealous of their God. It has now been the task of the Christians for a while, and we really haven´t done a better job than the Jews did, sadly enough. We too have allowed ourselves to be influenced by everything around us.

But we need to stand out and in order to do so, our love needs to be directed towards others more than to ourselves. After all, standing out usually means going against the flow. It´s also how we can show that we are different, that we have something that non-Christians lack. We should be the ones to go before, not joining in.

How often are our actions and behaviour the exact opposite of this word? I'll do it soon, I'll hear from you later. Often this does not happen later at all. I myself have been with Christians who told me, I can do it in a while, but even more so; I call later, and this becomes nothing at all.

I am absolutely certain that there is no deliberate evil meant behind it, but in the worst case, what we do can not cause the damage to have already taken place. Here we have a big pitfall, for us as Christians in particular, because, what we say and don´t do, are done as us being representatives of Jesus and God. What we do is associated with who we say we serve.

Are we resembling Jesus here, or? Would Jesus say I´ll do it later and not do it at all? This brings me to the story of the person who gets a late visit and comes to his friend and asks for help.

“Which of you who has a friend will go to him at midnight and say to him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves, for a friend of mine has arrived on a journey, and I have nothing to set before him’; and he will answer from within, ‘Do not bother me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I cannot get up and give you anything’? I tell you, though he will not get up and give him anything because he is his friend, yet because of his impudence he will rise and give him whatever he needs. Luk 11:5-8

Vi går före, vi gör det som Jesus gjorde. Vi är så i harmoni med hurdan Gud är, så att inte släppa det vi har för händerna och hjälpa till, finns inte i oss. Ja, jag vet vi har arbeten som vi måste sköta, men kanske kan vi på något sätt även i de fallen att det är det vi jäktar mot, ta några få minuter, och mest av allt, se till att höra av oss senare.

I want to turn the tables here so to speak, we should not give in because the person is intrusive, on the contrary, do it at once, just because the person asks us to. This for me is having the mindset of Christ.

We go before, we do what Jesus did. We are so in harmony with what God is like, so letting go of what we have at hand and not helping is not in us. Yes, I know we have jobs that we have to take care of, but maybe we can somehow even in those cases find something small to do and not just ruch away,, take a few minutes, and most of all, make sure if we promise to call back, do so later.
Which brings up another song in my head, an English song that has come back to me often, written by Steven Curtis Capman.

Let us pray, let us pray, everywhere in every way. Every moment of the day, it is the right time. For the Father above, He is listening with love. And He wants to answer us, so let us pray

2. So when we feel the Spirit moving. Prompting, prodding and behooving. There is no time to be losing, let us pray. Let the Father hear us saying. What we need to be conveying. Even while this song is playing, let us pray. And just because we say the word, "Amen". It doesn't mean this conversation needs to end

Let us pray, let us pray, everywhere in every way. Every moment of the day, it is the right time. Let us pray without end and when we finish start again. Like breathing out and breathing in, let us pray

Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence. As our prayers draw us near. To the One who knows our needs. Before we even call His name

The more I try to explain that what´s in me, the harder it becomes to find a conclusion. Let us look outward at others, and reduce our own need to be the center of attention. Is not that the way the world can really see that we are different?
